You can choose to swim in the stunning infinity pool, with views over the Indian Ocean, enjoy the spa (at extra cost), work out in the fitness room or simply kick back on a sun lounger and soak up the rays.
When it comes to dining, the hotel’s Zamani Residence concept truly excels, composed of a variety of terraced restaurants drawing on influences from Indian, Arabic and continental cuisine, as well as offering fish caught locally.
This morning you will enjoy breakfast at your hotel, before meeting our expert local guide for a tour of fascinating Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Over the centuries, many cultures have left their impressions on Zanzibar and it is perhaps in Stone Town where you can most easily see their influences. Your guide will lead you first to the colourful market, awash with exotic smells and buzzing with bartering locals. Afterwards, you will visit the calm of the 19th C cathedral, built on the former site of the slave market after the 1873 abolition of slavery.
As you wander the narrow streets and alleys, you’ll pass the Arab houses with their inner courtyards, hidden behind heavy doors. You can compare their style with the Indian residences, adorned with balustrades and metal railings. Amongst the town’s historic sites are the ‘Tip Tip House,’ the Old Fort and the People’s Palace Museum. Lunch will be taken at the Silk Route Indian rooftop restaurant, with views to the ocean. The Silk Route is full of character, so enjoy the excellent cuisine, perhaps washing it down with a cocktail. In the evening, you will be guided back to your Stone Town hotel for dinner and an evening at leisure.
After breakfast, you can enjoy the morning at leisure. Your Stone Town hotel will provide you with an early lunch, before we transfer you to your chosen beach hotel for the next part of your stay in exotic, enticing Zanzibar. After the delightful chaos of Stone Town, it’s now time to relax and enjoy some real downtime.

Yes, it is safe to travel to the Zanzibar Islands. This is one of the safest African destinations, even for solo female travellers.
The Zanzibar Archipelago is part of Tanzania, which is one of the most stable African countries. Tanzania is ranked as the most peaceful country in East Africa, in fact.
The local people are generally welcoming and laid-back. Thanks to the picture-perfect beaches, sunny weather, and rich culture Zanzibar is a popular tourist destination. Thus, it features all the necessary tourism infrastructure for a comfortable and safe holiday. Many international travellers enjoy their time on the islands so much that they return time and again.
Conditions do vary from beach to beach and season to season, but overall many of Zanzibar’s beaches are ideal for swimming. Depending on the tides, there can sometimes be seaweed in the water, particularly along the East Coast. You may also encounter sea urchins in the rocky shallows (especially at low tide). Watch where you walk and wear booties (diving boots) to protect your feet against the coral.
There are reef sharks in Zanzibar which are harmless. Then at Mafia Island, you can swim with whale sharks. These sharks are endangered and safe to swim and dive with. Lastly, great white sharks are occasionally spotted in the deep waters but there have been no shark attacks recorded in Zanzibar.
Erring on the side of caution, the answer is no. Muggings and robberies do happen, especially in dark alleys at night. So, don’t walk around by yourself at night.
Only take registered taxis or taxis recommended by trusted locals, your hotel or B&B, and friends. Alternatively, you can arrange an escort, to walk with you, at some hotels and restaurants.
The same rules apply in most major cities across the globe. Don’t wear flashy jewellery, or keep your valuables on you. Keep your wits about you and don’t divulge where you are staying freely. During the day you should be fine walking around on your own, but keep your eyes open.
The best time to visit Zanzibar is from mid-winter to spring or in mid-summer (southern hemisphere timing). These are Zanzibar’s dry seasons. The long dry season is over winter and spring and the short dry season is in mid-summer
Remember this is a tropical region which means the cooler temperatures of winter are still warm. So, you’ll still enjoy pleasant beach weather.
The duration of an ideal Tanzania safari can take between 5 to 10 days, to ensure you hit all the top spots on your safari. The length though can depend on how long you’d like to stay and enjoy a specific place, hotel, park on your itinerary.

LeoBl24 March 2025A great Kilimanjaro experience I have recently climbed Kilimanjaro with Brighton and his crew and I had an outstanding experience. The meals were always amazing, lots of food as well. One of our guys struggled a little with altitude sickness, but everyone made sure that he will make it up the top, but all in a safe manner. Brighton is a very knowledgeable guy in the area and has been running Kilimanjaro tours for a very long time and you can see and feel his experience in any possible way. I can’t recommend him and his crew enough!Verified

Nath_London21 March 2025Hiking Kilimanjaro I had the once in a lifetime opportunity to climb up Kilimanjaro via the Lemosho route. Although the trek was challenging- especially getting to the summit, it was lots of fun and I had the chance to experience some spectacular scenery and nature along the way. The support of all the team was first class and I would recommend this for anyone considering taking up the Kilimanjaro challenge!
